The Gardens

An oasis of native forest is right on your doorstep with the Auckland Botanic Gardens and Totara Park covering a high percentage of the suburbs’ total land area. Hill Park

Hill Park was granted official suburb status in August 2021 and bridges the nearby suburbs of Manurewa and The Gardens. Generally bounded by Alfriston Road to the South, Great South Road to the West, Puhinui Creek to the North and State Highway 1 to the East.

Home to large areas of mature native forest and parkland – a rare find in urban Auckland. Enjoy a walk in one of the abundant council reserves including Hillcrest Grove Reserve, Orford Park and David Nathan Park. The historic Nathan Homestead was built in 1925 and is now beautifully maintained as a heritage arts, culture and events centre. Nathan Homestead frequently hosted exhibitions for local, national and international artists and offers a multitude of creative classes for both adults and youth – including music lessons, art classes, ceramics and clay workshops, jewellery making and more.
